Revelation Chapter 19

Revelation 19:1 After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting, Praise the Lord!{Greek: Hallelujah; also in verses 3, 4, 6. "Hallelujah" is the transliteration of a Hebrew term that means "Praise the Lord"} Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

Revelation 19:2-3 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication{using nations to enforce false teachings}, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. 3 And again they said, Praise the Lord. And her smoke ascends for the ever and ever.

Revelation 19:4-5 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Praise the Lord! 5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, from the least to the greatest.

Revelation 19:6 Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder: Praise the Lord! For the Lord{Greek:kýrios; Hebrew:Jehovah} our God{Greek:theós; Hebrew:elohim}, the Almighty{omnipotent; all-powerful}, reigns.

Revelation 19:7-9 Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him{Jehovah}. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb{Jesus}, and his bride{the saints - "God’s holy people"} has prepared herself. 8 She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.” For the fine linen represents the righteousness of God’s holy people. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are invited to the marriage feast of the Lamb. And he{an angel} saith unto me, These are the true words that come from God.

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he{an angel} said unto me{John}, No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider{Christ} was Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.

Revelation 19:12-13 His{Christ's} eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called The Word of God.

Revelation 19:14 The armies of heaven{angels, see below}, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him{Christ} on white horses.

Revelation 19:15-16 From his{Christ's} mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. 16 And he{Christ} hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelation 19:17-18 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18 Come and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great.

Revelation 19:19-21 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him{Christ} that sat on the horse, and against his army{angels}. 20 And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beastmiracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came from the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And the birds all gorged themselves on the dead bodies.

Desiring to live by every word that comes from the mouth of Jehovah ( Deut8:3; Matt4:4 )
