The "Testimony of Jesus Christ"
Revelation 1:1-3 This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him[Jesus], to shew unto his servants things which must happen soon, which he[Jesus] sent and made known by his[Jesus'(Rev22:16)] angel to his servant John, 2 who testified to God's word, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, about everything that he saw.. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.
- Path of Communication: Father Jehovah => Christ => angel => John(the prophets) => us.
- Notice also that John has the "testimony of Jesus"
Revelation 22:6,16 He[Christ's angel] said to me[John], "These words are faithful and true. The Lord God[Jesus] of the spirits of the prophets sent his angel to show to his bondservants the things which must happen soon."... 16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David; the Bright and Morning Star."
- Who else has the “testimony of Jesus” and what is it?
Revelation 19:10 I fell down before his[the angel's] feet to worship him. He said to me, "Look! Don't do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you[John] and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy."
- The angel has the “testimony of Jesus” which "is the Spirit of Prophecy."(SoP)
- Also, according to the angel, John's "brothers" also have the SoP
Revelation 12:17 The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep God's commandments and hold Jesus' testimony.
- The saints just before Christ's return have the “testimony of Jesus”
Revelation 20:4 I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God...
- The martyrs have the “testimony of Jesus”
1 Peter 1:10-11 Concerning which salvation the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 searching what time or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did point unto, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them.
- The "Spirit of Christ" gave the testimony of Christ Jesus through all the prophets
- The prophets/martyrs/last-day saints/angels all(not just one prophet) have the “testimony of Jesus” which is the “Spirit of Prophesy”(Rev 19:10)
- Please notice that these are literal descriptive phrases, not titles or metaphors. I think it important that we understand the Bible "just as it reads".
