Humphry Kent, 5 yr. old son of John Kent, merchant tailor of St.Sepulcher Parish, was admitted to Christ's Hospital [grammar school for orphans] on March 18, 1607. Humphrey Kent petitioned to leave Christ's Hospital on October 17, 1617, to join his mother in Virginia. Humphrey sailed to VA aboard the "George" in 1619 and was probably the first Kent in the colonies. In 1624, he and wife Joan were living at Percy's Hundred (aka Flowerdieu Hundred), and were assigned 60 acres at Weyanoke. Possibly aka Henry.
Humphrey married Joan Arundell. (Joan Arundell was born in 1604 in London, Middlesex, England 481 and died in 1678 481.)
