Vital Words From Jesus

(Christ's words are in red)

How Important are the Words of Jesus?

John 6:54,63,68 ~ 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day... 65 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life... 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord... thou hast the words of eternal life.

When Jesus said to eat His flesh, we see in vs. 65 that He was referring to His words. Just as we assimilate our food into our bodies, we must assimilate His words into our minds.

Where do the Words of Jesus Originate?

John12:48-50 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

The words of Father God given through His "only begotten Son" are "the words of eternal life."

John 3:34-36 For he[Christ] whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. -John the baptist

The words of Father God are the "Spirit" given to Christ, without "measure".

Some of the Most-Important Words of Jesus

John 17:1,3 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father,... this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

According to the "words of eternal life"(Jn6:68) from Jesus, it is a matter of eternal life, not only to know Jesus Christ, but also to know His Father as "the only true God". Father agrees, when He declares Himself to be the God of His "only begotten Son"(Jn3:16), Jesus Christ in Hebrews 1:1-2,8-9.

John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved...

John 1:51 ... Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

See Genesis 28:10-13 for the context Jesus' words above, where Father God is at the top of the ladder

John 14:6 ... I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

According to the "words of eternal life"(Jn6:68) from Jesus, there is no other living being that gives us access to the Father. The apostle Paul agrees in 1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Matthew 28:20 ... lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
