Never Die?
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die...
- Notice that Jesus said that His believers will not die. He can say this because He considers the first death to be "sleep"=> John 11:11,14 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep... 14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
- Here are more sayings of Jesus on this subject:
- John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish...
- John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
- John 6:50-51,54 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever... 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
- Note that in verse 63, Jesus tells us that it is His words that we must eat(assimulate into our mind), rather than His body(flesh) =>
-
John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life. ... 68 Simon Peter answered him... You have the words of eternal life.

- Note that in verse 63, Jesus tells us that it is His words that we must eat(assimulate into our mind), rather than His body(flesh) =>
- John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
- John 12:48 He who rejects me, and doesn’t receive my sayings, has one who judges him. The word that I spoke will judge him in the last day.
- Why will "he... never see death"? It is because he "hath eternal life" already. Even while he sleeps in what we call death, Jesus "will raise him up at the last day."
- John 3:15-16 ... whosoever believeth in him["the son of man"(vs14)] should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Quote from Ellen White => Death is a small matter to the believer in God. Christ speaks of it as though it were of little moment. “Whosoever believeth in me,” He says, “shall never die.” [John 11:26] “If a man keep my sayings, he shall never taste of death. Neither shall he see death.” [John 8:51, 52] Death is looked upon by Christ as sleep—silence, darkness, sleep. To the believing one, to die is to sleep. “All that sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.” [1 Thessalonians 4:14] Who can take hold of this great truth? Our life is hid with Christ in God. 12LtMs, Ms 131, 1897, par. 8
Desiring to live by every word that comes from the mouth of Jehovah (Deut8:3; Matt4:4)
