How Heaven Communicates with Earth – part 4

evil spirits, holy spirits, and the Holy Spirit

Acts 19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

So, what are these evil spirits? I'm pretty sure we can all agree that these "evil spirits" are fallen angels, under the command of satan. Does the Bible also talk about "holy spirits"?

Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

Hebrews 1:14 Are they[angels(verse 13)] not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Angels are not "The Holy Spirit", but they are holy because they stand in the presence of Almighty God and only holy beings can do that without being consumed by the glory of Jehovah! The angels are also referred to as "spirits". So, it seems to me that we have satan's "evil spirits", because they are fully surrendered to the father of evil and we have God's holy spirits, because they are fully surrendered to the Almighty Creator. So, we have satan's angels who are conduits of satan's evil spirit and we have Christ's angels who are conduits of Christ's Holy Spirit - the Spirit of Christ. They are conduits because they are constantly traversing the mystic ladder(Christ in Gen 28:12; Jn1:51) between us and Father Jehovah, bringing us the Holy Spirit(words) of Jehovah, who gave  His words(spirit) without measure to His "beloved" Son(Jn3:34). This is how the "holy angels" are "ministering spirits" to us who are surrendering ourselves to God and seeking His will.

Since the "angels do always behold the face of my[Christ's] Father which is in heaven"(Matthew 18:10), they know the will of The Father. They know His words. Remember Jesus said that His words are spirit(Jn6:63). So, it is the angels who descend to us to bring us the words and the will of Jehovah(His Holy Spirit - thoughts from His mind). We saw a Bible example of how this works in Part 1 of this study. In Revelation 1:1-2, we saw the Revelation of Jesus Christ was given by Father Jehovah to Christ to His angel to John to us to others whom we share it with.

This is "How Heaven Communicates with Earth" - by the Holy Spirit - the words/will of God, through His holy angels.

The Holy Spirit -- Common Questions

Is the phrase “God the Holy Spirit” used in the Bible? No.

Is the phrase “God the Holy Ghost” used in the Bible? No.

Is the phrase “God the Spirit” used in the Bible? No.

According to Jesus, who is "the only true God"? "... Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father... this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth."(John 17:1-3)

Jesus and His Father each have a throne in Heaven(Revelation 3:21). Does the Bible mention the Holy Spirit's throne? No.

Jesus taught us to pray, "Our Father, which art in Heaven..." Stephen prayed to Jesus(Acts7:59-60) and John prayed to Jesus(Rev22:20). Is there a place in the Bible where someone prayed to the Holy Spirit or where we were instructed to pray to the Holy Spirit? "Never do we find in the Scriptures prayers to the Spirit, but for the Spirit."(M. C. Wilcox). Jesus taught us to pray to the Father to ask for the Holy Spirit. (Luke 11:11-13; John 16:23; Galatians 4:6)

Is the Holy Spirit a person, like the Father and the Son are? In John 14-16, Jesus personified(represented with the attributes of a person) the Holy Spirit as "the Comforter", using the pronouns, “he,” “him,” and “whom." But usually, the Holy Spirit is referred as "it" and in other ways that would not be used to talk about a literal person. Here are some examples =>

In Rev. 1:4 3:1 4:5 5:6, we read of "the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth." This must be another designation of the Holy Spirit, using the number 7 to show perfection and completeness. But, surely this can't be a reference to person. The Bible never talks about seven Gods or seven humans in this way. “We learn from this language that when we speak of the Spirit of God we are really speaking of his presence and power” (J.N. Loughborough) - the mind - the thoughts of God and His "beloved" Son, Jesus Christ. But, not another person like the Father and the Son are persons.

Names for the Holy Spirit

The following phrases are all found in the KJV Bible:

Only One Spirit Gives Access to Father Jehovah

Ephesians 2:18 For through him[Christ] we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father

Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of... the Lord—who is the Spirit... -Paul

Who is "the Lord"? 1 Corinthians 8:6 ... There is one God, the Father... And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ... -Paul

John 14:6 Jesus told him, "... No one can come to the Father except through me."

May the Father and His "beloved" "only begotten Son" be exalted forevermore. Amen.
