He died in Braintre NOTE e, England, between 20 May, 1671, when his will was made, and 20 September, same NOTE year, when it was proved.\0=\0:He was a weaver or cloth worker and resided in Great NOTE Leighs and Braintree. Although in the record of his marriage in 1621, he was ca NOTE lled of Great Leighs, it may be that he did not reside in Great Leighs immediate NOTE ly after his marriage, as he had a son, John (the record of baptism has not been NOTE found), who had a son who was five years old in 1648, as appears in the Manoria NOTE l Court Records. The last that is positively know of his being in Great Leighs w NOTE as when his son, Daniel, was baptized 6 Feb., 1630. On 22 May, 1632, he and his NOTE wife received the surrender of a tenement in Braintree, as appears in the Court NOTE Rolls for the Manor of Braintree:\0=\0:"Whereas at the Court on Monday in Easter wee NOTE k 11 James I A. D. 1613, Joseph Mann surrendered one acre and a half of land, pa NOTE rcel of a croft called Harold's Croft, lying at Minche's Oak on which same land NOTE a messuage had been lately built. To the use of Mark Stebbing and Mary his wife NOTE for their lives, and then to Edward Stebbing their son and his heirs. Now Mark, NOTE Mary and Edward are admitted.\0=\0:"Afterwards the said Mark, Mary and Edward and Th NOTE omas Stebbing, another son, surrendered all their right in the aforesaid premise NOTE s after the death of Mary Bead, formerly wife of Michael Mann, to the use of Rob NOTE ert Kellog and his heirs and the same Robert is admitted.\0=\0:"Afterwards Robert Ke NOTE llogg surrendered one tenement in the occupation of the same Thomas Stebbing and NOTE two small cottages to the same adjoining part of the property which the said Ro NOTE bert purchased of Edward and Thomas Stebbing, to the use and on behoof of Martin NOTE Kellogg and Prudence, his wife, and the heirs of the said Martin forever which NOTE same Martin and Prudence are admitted."\0=\0:In 1637 he received the surrender of a NOTE parcel of land with a cottage called Masses as appears from the following extrac NOTE t from the same Court Rolls. D. 1637, Ri NOTE chard Skinner was admitted on the surrender of Richard Sparhawke, amongst other NOTE things, to one parcel of land containing by estimation nine perches upon which a NOTE cottage had been lately built with part of a pond called a Fuller's Pond etc. I NOTE t is now found that on the 8th of April last (i. e. A. D. 1641) the said Skinner NOTE had surrendered the premises, by the name of one customary cottage called 'Mass NOTE es,' otherwise 'Masse's tenement' (then in the tenure of John Gowell or Cowell) NOTE to the use and behoof of Martin Kellhogg of Braintree weaver and his heirs. It is now found that John and Su NOTE san are both dead and that John Kelhogg aforesaid aged five years is son and hei NOTE r of John and Susan who is admitted accordingly. His w NOTE ill dated 20 January, same year, proved in August, 1688, mentions his wife, Eliz NOTE abeth, and children, Elizabeth, Martin and Joseph, all under age. At the Manoria NOTE l Court, 28 March, 1687, Elizabeth Kellogg, widow of Martin, was admitted to the NOTE tenement in which Martin Kellogg lately dwelt with the shop, yard, garden, etc. NOTE , until Martin Kellogg, her son, could attain the age of 21 years, and to anothe NOTE r customary tenement in Braintree until Elizabeth Kellogg, her daughter, should NOTE attain the age of 21 years, according to the will of Martin Kellogg, the elder, NOTE formerly husband of the said Elizabeth, dated 21 January, 1685. At the same cou NOTE rt on 17 April, 1704, it was presented that their son Martin was 21, and he was NOTE admitted to the tenement in Hoppet Lane, and on 28 March, 1706, it was presented NOTE that the said Martin had died seized of the Hoppet Lane tenement, and Joseph Ke NOTE llogg, his brother and heir, was admitted. On the 14th of March, 1722, at the s NOTE ame court, Joseph Kellogg surrendered the same tenement to the use of Nathaniel NOTE Kellogg and his heirs for \:331 10s. Further entries in the Manorial Court as late NOTE as 1735, show that this tenement on Hoppet Lane was still in possession of the NOTE Kelloggs. No later search was made\0=\0:
