Titus Smith ..... [see under his name]" GEN: "DAMARIS NASH, dau. of Aaron Nash of Granby, Mass. and Brattleborough, Vt. b. 19 Nob. 1737, was m. in 1767, to the Rev. Titus GEN: Smith, son of Dea. John Smith of Granby, b. 4 June, 1734. He was educated at Yale College, where he graduated. He was a GEN: missionary to the Six Nations of Indians some years, and afterwards preached some time in West Suffield, Mass. but GEN: discontinued preaching on account of disease of GEN: the lungs. He afterwards resided in Danbury and New Haven, Ct. and at Bushwick, L.I. where Mrs. Damaris Smith d. in Aug. 1779. GEN: Rev. Titus Smith d. in Halifax, N[ova] S[cotia]. (P) Children. Sylvester, born Danbury, Ct., 1773, settled in Halifax, d. there, had 10 children. iv. GEN: Infant, born Danbury, Ct., d. young. v. Infant, born Danbury, Ct., d. young. vi. William, born in N. Haven, Ct. 10 Feb. GEN: 1777, settled in Watertown, N.Y. GEN: Titus, jr. became somewhat eminent as a Geologist, Botanist, Astronomer, Mathematician and Linguist,---was for many years Sec. GEN: of the Provincial Agricultural Society. He had ten children. GEN: Rebecca had four children, but they all d. before their mother. GEN: Sylvester d. in Halifax, about 1830. Damaris married Rev Titus Smith, son of John Decon Smith and Unknown, in 1767. (Rev Titus Smith was born on 4 Jun 1734 and died in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.)
