I received an oil portrait of my mother's great-grandfather, Francis Burdett Nash, and decided to see if I could find any more information about him than I already have. My search engine produced your page about him, so I thought I'd add my information to yours. Maybe we can come up with some more eventually.
Francis Burdett Nash Born: 16 Nov 1812, Springfield, Massachusetts Died: 5 Oct 1890, Tintah, Traverse County, Minnesota Spouse: Elizabeth Anne Maury, b. Bath, Kentucky Marriage Date: 20 August 1840 Children: Henry Sylvester Nash, b. 22 Dec 1854, Newark, OH
I believe Francis Burdett Nash was an Episcopal clergyman, but I'm not sure about the details. Tintah is a very small town in Minnesota, not far from the North Dakota border. Wonder what he was doing there? (It's Lutheran country.)
He was my mother's great-grandfather, which is why I'm interested in him. Since I am a minister (strayed to Unitarian Universalism) and a direct descendent, the relatives who had the portrait decided I should have it for the time being.
Francis married Elizabeth Anne Maury.
