GEN: "He lived in Greenfield, and was in company with his father and his brother Daniel, in building the mills. He was one of the GEN: partisans of the famous Captain Shays, in 1789. This is the case, to which allusion has already been made, of brother being GEN: arrayed against brother. His brother Tubel was an officer in Captain Arms' company, on the government side. It is said they GEN: were both worthy men. Sylvanus is spoken of as a man of great firmness and decision of character, and of extraordinary GEN: muscular powers." Rev. Sylvester Nash, 1853
