John Becket Wilson
General Notes: "J. B. WILSON DEAD AT MONTOUR, IDA. Ex-county and city engineer of Walla Walla, sucombs to heart disease. J. B. Wilson, former county and city engineer here, died yesterday at Montour, Idaho, of heart disease, according to a telegram received last night by his uncle, W. A. Williams, of this city. Mr. Wilson was city engineer in the time the new city water system was put in on Mill creek. At that time the office was an elective one. In one well rembered campaigh, Mr. Wilson was elected engineer over Lew W. Loehr by one vote. Prior to that time Mr. Wilson was county engineer. He left here about four years ago to take a position as engineer with a company developing an irrigation project on the Payette river. Mr. Wilson was just past 60 years of age. He came here from the east with his parents when he was 12. His wife and two daughters, one daughter is married and living at Sprague and the other, unmarried, is teaching school in Idaho. Mr. Williams did not know last night whether the body would be brought here for burial."
