Oscar Fitzallen Wilson ⁴

  General Notes:

"From a wealthy family with holdings in copper and iron works. An officer in the Civil War, he reached the rank of second Sergeant. In 1867, Oscar and wife headed west. They spent two years on the journey, including a winter in Salt Lake City."(HC Wilson) See Research/Historical Notes.

The Civil war Muster Rolls indicat: Rank In: 4 corporal, Rank Out: 1 Sergeant. Unit: 29 Iowa Infantry, Company K.

Oscar's tombstone says that he was born in 1843, however the Walla Walla Union article in the attached historical document, HC Wilson, and an Internet source all agree that he was born in 1834. Also, if he were born in 1843, then his first bornson was born while Oscar was only 12! @HI301@

Oscar married Marion Jane Williams, daughter of Almond Mccumber Williams and Zilpha Baker Cilley, on 24 Sep 1851 in Mills, Iowa. (Marion Jane Williams was born on 25 Oct 1835 in Erie, Erie, PA,^9,14 died in Feb 1923 in Puyallup?, WA and was buried on 27 Feb 1923 in MT View Cem, Walla Walla, WA.)
