Jesus stated eight times in the Gospel of John that He spoke nothing of His own authority — only what His Father taught Him:
- “The Son can do nothing of His own accord” ( Jn5:19 ).
- “I can do nothing on my own” ( Jn5:30 ).
- “My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me” ( Jn7:16 ).
- “he that sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these speak I unto the world.” ( Jn8:26 )
- “I do nothing on my own authority but speak just as the Father taught me” ( Jn8:28 ).
- “The Father has given me a commandment — what to say and speak” ( Jn12:49 ).
- “The words I say I do not speak on my own authority” ( Jn14:10 ).
- “The word you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me” ( Jn14:24 ).

How Important are The Words of Jesus?
In John 12:48, Jesus establishes the standard of final judgment: “The WORD that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.”
Jesus said NOTHING other than as His Father taught Him ( Jn5:19,30; 7:16; 8:26,28; 12:49; 14:10,24 ).
Sad how so many REFUSE to believe some or all of these teachings of Jesus and His Father:
- His Father is GREATER than Jesus ( Jn14:28 )
- His Father is His God ( Mt27:46; Jn20:17; Heb1:9; Rev3:12 )
- His Father is "the ONLY true God" ( Jn17:3 )
- He is the only-born(monogenes) Son( Jn3:16 ) of the "only true God".
- NO ONE comes to His Father except through Jesus ( Jn14:6 )
- Jesus will not leave us comfortless. He will come to us. ( Jn14:18 )
- "Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, HATH eternal life." ( Jn6:54 )
- "the WORDS that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." ( Jn6:63 )
We will be judged by the Father’s words, transmitted through His Son. Not by a creed. Not by the trinity doctrine. By the actual words Jesus spoke — which NEVER gave credence to the trinity...
