The Torn Veil

John 19:30 When Yeshua therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Matthew 27:50-51 Yeshua cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit. 51 Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.

The veil was a physical barrier that symbolized the separation between God and humanity. What is the significance of this veil being torn at Messiah's death, exposing what used to be the Most Holy Place? What made this place so "Holy"? It was Holy because of the presence of God. I say "used to be..." because it was now exposed for all to see. If it was still Holy when the veil was torn, all who looked in to see the Arc of the first Covenant, would have been destroyed immediately. We have no record of that happening. However, we do have instruction as to why this event took place. See below =>

Hebrews 10:1-10 For the Torah, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near. 2 Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins? 3 But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins. 4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. 5 Therefore when he{Yeshua} comes into the world, he says, “You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me. 6 You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin. 7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’ ” 8 ¶ Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the Torah), 9 then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He{Yeshua} takes away the first, that he may establish the second, 10 by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus the Messiah once for all.

Hebrews 10:11 ¶ Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins, 12 but he{Yeshua}, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet. 14 For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. 15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying, 16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,” says the Lord, “I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;( Jeremiah 31:33-34 )” then he says, 17 “I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.( Jeremiah 31:34 )”

Hebrews 10:18 ¶ Now where remission of these is, there is no more {need of} offering for sin.

Hebrews 10:19-23Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the most holy place by the blood of Yeshua, 20 by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh, 21 and having a great priest over God’s house, 22 let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and having our body washed with pure water, 23 let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

John 14:6 ¶ Yeshua said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. {no-longer through an Earthly priest, but through Yeshua, our High Priest}

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Messiah Yeshua, {not an earthly priest, or anyone else}

Conclusion

Galatians 5:1-6 ¶ Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Messiah has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2 ¶ Behold, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Messiah will profit you nothing. 3 Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 You are alienated from Messiah, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness. 6 For in Messiah Yeshua neither circumcision nor uncircumcision amounts to anything, but faith working through love.

Colossians 3:5-11 Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 For these things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. 7 You also once walked in those, when you lived in them, 8 but now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. 9 Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, 10 and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator, 11 where there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, or free person; but Messiah is all, and in all. => Please read the entire chapter in context.
