Jeremiah 8:1 ¶ At that time,6256 says5002 Yahweh,3068 they shall bring out3318 the bones6106 of the kings4428 of Judah,3063 and the bones6106 of his princes,8269 and the bones6106 of the priests,3548 and the bones6106 of the prophets,5030 and the bones6106 of the inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem,3389 out of their graves;69132 and they shall spread7849 them before the sun,8121 and the moon,3394 and all the army6635 of the sky,8064 which they have loved,157 and which they have served,5647 and after310 which they have walked,1980 and which they have sought,1875 and which they have worshiped:7812 they shall not be gathered,622 nor be buried,6912 they shall be for dung1828 on the surface6440 of the earth.1273 Death4194 shall be chosen977 rather than life2416 by all the residue7611 that remain7604 of this evil7451 family,4940 that remain7604 in all the places4725 where I have driven5080 them, says5002 Yahweh3068 of Armies.66354 Moreover you shall tell559 them, Thus says559 Yahweh:3068 Shall men fall,5307 and not rise6965 up again? But, behold,403 the false8267 pen5842 of the scribes5608 has worked6213 falsely.82679 The wise2450 men are disappointed,3001 they are dismayed2865 and taken:3920 behold, they have rejected3988 the word1697 of Yahweh;3068 and what kind of wisdom2451 is in them?
10 Therefore will I give5414 their wives802 to others,312 and their fields7704 to those who shall possess3423 them: for everyone from the least6996 even to the greatest1419 is given1214 to covetousness;1215 from the prophet5030 even to the priest3548 every one deals6213 falsely.826711 They have healed7495 the hurt7667 of the daughter1323 of my people5971 slightly,7043 saying,559 Peace,7965 peace;7965 when there is no peace.796512 Were they ashamed3001 when they had committed6213 abomination?8441 nay, they were not at all954 ashamed,954 neither could3045 they blush:3637 therefore shall they fall5307 among those who fall;5307 in the time6256 of their visitation6486 they shall be cast down,3782 says559 Yahweh.306813 I will utterly622 consume5486 them, says5002 Yahweh:3068 no grapes6025 shall be on the vine,1612 nor figs8384 on the fig tree,8384 and the leaf5929 shall fade;5034 and the things that I have given5414 them shall pass away5674 from them.
14 Why do we sit still?3427 Assemble622 yourselves, and let us enter935 into the fortified4013 cities,5892 and let us be silent1826 there; for Yahweh3068 our God430 has put us to silence,1826 and given us water4325 of gall7219 to drink,8248 because we have sinned2398 against Yahweh.306815 We looked6960 for peace,7965 but no good2896 came; and for a time6256 of healing,4832 and behold, dismay!120516 The snorting5170 of his horses5483 is heard8085 from Dan:1835 at the sound6963 of the neighing4684 of his strong ones47 the whole land776 trembles;7493 for they have come,935 and have devoured398 the land776 and all4393 that is in it; the city5892 and those who dwell3427 therein.
17 For, behold, I will send7971 serpents,5175 adders,6848 among you, which will not be charmed;3908 and they shall bite5391 you, says5002 Yahweh.306818 Oh that I could comfort4010 myself against sorrow!3015 My heart3820 is faint1742 within me.
19 Behold, the voice6963 of the cry7775 of the daughter1323 of my people5971 from a land776 that is very far4801 off: isn't Yahweh3068 in Zion?6726 Isn't her King4428 in her? Why have they provoked me to anger3707 with their engraved images,6456 and with foreign5236 vanities?189220 The harvest7105 is past,5674 the summer7019 is ended,3615 and we are not saved.346721 For the hurt7667 of the daughter1323 of my people5971 am I hurt:7665 I mourn;6937 dismay8047 has taken hold2388 on me.
22 Is there no balm6875 in Gilead?1568 is there no physician7495 there? why then3588 isn't the health724 of the daughter1323 of my people5971 recovered?5927
