Isaiah 7:1 ¶ It happened in the days3117 of Ahaz271 the son1121 of Jotham,3147 the son1121 of Uzziah,5818 king4428 of Judah,3063 that Rezin7526 the king4428 of Syria,758 and Pekah6492 the son1121 of Remaliah,7425 king4428 of Israel,3478 went up5927 to Jerusalem3389 to war4421 against it, but could3201 not prevail3898 against it.
2 It was told5046 the house1004 of David,1732 saying,559 "Syria758 is allied5117 with Ephraim."669 His heart3824 trembled,5128 and the heart3824 of his people,5971 as the trees6086 of the forest3293 tremble5128 with6440 the wind.73073 Then Yahweh3068 said559 to Isaiah,3470 "Go out3318 now to meet7125 Ahaz,271 you, and Shearjashub7610 your son,1121 at the end7097 of the conduit8585 of the upper5945 pool,1295 on the highway4546 of the fuller's3526 field.77044 Tell559 him, ‘Be careful,8104 and keep calm.8252 Don't be afraid,3372 neither let your heart be faint7401 because of these two8147 tails2180 of smoking6226 torches,181 for the fierce2750 anger639 of Rezin7526 and Syria,758 and of the son1121 of Remaliah.74255 Because3282 Syria,758 Ephraim,669 and the son1121 of Remaliah,7425 have plotted3289 evil7451 against5921 you, saying,5596 "Let's go up5927 against Judah,3063 and tear6973 it apart, and let's divide1234 it413 among ourselves, and set4427 up4427 a king4428 in its midst,8432 even the son1121 of Tabeel."28707 This3541 is what the Lord136 Yahweh136 says:559 "It shall not stand,6965 neither shall it happen."
8 For the head7218 of Syria758 is Damascus,1834 and the head7218 of Damascus1834 is Rezin;7526 and within sixty -8346 five2568 years8141 Ephraim669 shall be broken2865 in pieces, so that it shall not be a people;59719 and the head7218 of Ephraim669 is Samaria,8111 and the head7218 of Samaria8111 is Remaliah's7425 son.1121 If you will not believe,539 surely you shall not be established.'"539
Isaiah 7:10 ¶ Yahweh3068 spoke1696 again3254 to Ahaz,271 saying,55911 "Ask7592 a sign226 of Yahweh3068 your God;430 ask7592 it either in the depth,6009 or in the height1361 above."4605
Isaiah 7:12 ¶ But Ahaz271 said,559 "I will not ask,7592 neither will I tempt5254 Yahweh."3068
