Numbers 20:12 And the LORD3068 spake559 unto Moses4872 and Aaron,175 Because ye believed539 me not, to sanctify6942 me in the eyes5869 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 therefore ye shall not bring935 this congregation6951 into the land776 which I have given5414 them. cr 13 This is1992 the water4325 of Meribah;4809{that is, strife} because the children1121 of Israel3478 strove7378 with the LORD,3068 and he was sanctified6942 in them. cr

Numbers 20:14 And Moses4872 sent7971 messengers4397 from Kadesh6946 unto the king4428 of Edom,123 Thus saith559 thy brother251 Israel,3478 Thou knowest3045 all the travail8513 that hath befallen4672{Heb. found us} us: cr 15 How our fathers1 went down3381 into Egypt,4714 and we have dwelt3427 in Egypt4714 a long7227 time;3117 and the Egyptians4714 vexed7489 us, and our fathers:1 cr 16 And when we cried6817 unto the LORD,3068 he heard8085 our voice,6963 and sent7971 an angel,4397 and hath brought us forth3318 out of Egypt:4714 and, behold, we are in Kadesh,6946 a city5892 in the uttermost7097 of thy border:1366 cr 17 Let us pass,5674 I pray thee, through thy country:776 we will not pass5674 through the fields,7704 or through the vineyards,3754 neither will we drink8354 of the water4325 of the wells:875 we will go3212 by the king's4428 high way,1870 we will not turn5186 to the right hand3225 nor to the left,8040 until we have passed5674 thy borders.1366 cr 18 And Edom123 said559 unto him, Thou shalt not pass5674 by me, lest I come out3318 against7125 thee with the sword.2719 cr 19 And the children1121 of Israel3478 said559 unto him, We will go5927 by the high way:4546 and if I and my cattle4735 drink8354 of thy water,4325 then I will pay5414 4377 for it: I will only, without doing any thing1697 else, go through5674 on my feet.7272 cr 20 And he said,559 Thou shalt not go through.5674 And Edom123 came out3318 against7125 him with much3515 people,5971 and with a strong2389 hand.3027 cr 21 Thus Edom123 refused3985 to give5414 Israel3478 passage5674 through his border:1366 wherefore Israel3478 turned away5186 from him. cr

Numbers 20:22 And the children1121 of Israel,3478 even the whole congregation,5712 journeyed5265 from Kadesh,6946 and came935 unto mount2022 Hor.2023 cr 23 And the LORD3068 spake559 unto Moses4872 and Aaron175 in mount2022 Hor,2023 by the coast1366 of the land776 of Edom,123 saying,559 cr 24 Aaron175 shall be gathered622 unto his people:5971 for he shall not enter935 into the land776 which I have given5414 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 because ye rebelled against4784 my word6310{Heb. mouth} at the water4325 of Meribah.4809 cr 25 Take3947 Aaron175 and Eleazar499 his son,1121 and bring them up5927 unto mount2022 Hor:2023 cr 26 And strip6584 Aaron175 of his garments,899 and put3847 them upon Eleazar499 his son:1121 and Aaron175 shall be gathered622 unto his people, and shall die4191 there. cr 27 And Moses4872 did6213 as the LORD3068 commanded:6680 and they went up5927 into mount2022 Hor2023 in the sight5869 of all the congregation.5712 cr 28 And Moses4872 stripped6584 Aaron175 of his garments,899 and put3847 them upon Eleazar499 his son;1121 and Aaron175 died4191 there in the top7218 of the mount:2022 and Moses4872 and Eleazar499 came down3381 from the mount.2022 cr 29 And when all the congregation5712 saw7200 that Aaron175 was dead,1478 they mourned1058 for Aaron175 thirty7970 days,3117 even all the house1004 of Israel.3478 cr
