Deuteronomy 25:1 If there be a controversy7379 between men,582 and they come5066 unto judgment,4941 that thejudges may judge8199 them; then they shall justify6663 the righteous,6662 and condemn7561 the wicked.75632 And it shall be, if the wicked man7563be worthy1121 to be beaten,5221 that the judge8199 shall cause him to lie down,5307 and to be beaten5221 before his face,6440 according1767 to his fault,7564 by a certain number.45573 Forty705 stripes5221 he may give him, and not exceed:3254 lest, if he should exceed,3254 and beat5221 him above these with many7227 stripes,4347 then thy brother251 should seem vile70345869 unto thee.

Deuteronomy 25:5 If brethren251 dwell3427 together,3162 and one259 of them die,4191 and have no child,1121 the wife802 of the dead4191 shall not marry without2351 unto a stranger:3762114 her husband's brother2993{Or, next kinseman} shall go in935 unto her, and take3947 her to him to wife,802 and perform the duty of an husband's brother2992 unto her.
