2 Kings 2:9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over,5674 that Elijah452 said559 unto Elisha,477 Ask7592 what I shall do6213 for thee, before I be taken away3947 from thee. And Elisha477 said,559 I pray thee, let a double8147 portion6310 of thy spirit7307 be upon me. cr 10 And he said,559 Thou hast asked7592 a hard thing:7185{Heb. thou hast done hard in asking} nevertheless, if thou see7200 me when I am taken3947 from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. cr 11 And it came to pass, as they still1980 went on,1980 and talked,1696 that, behold, there appeared a chariot7393 of fire,784 and horses5483 of fire,784 and parted6504 them both8147 asunder;996 and Elijah452 went up5927 by a whirlwind5591 into heaven.8064 cr

2 Kings 2:12 And Elisha477 saw7200 it, and he cried,6817 My father,1 my father,1 the chariot7393 of Israel,3478 and the horsemen6571 thereof. 2 Kings 2:16 And they said559 unto him, Behold now, there be3426 with thy servants5650 fifty2572 strong2428 men;1121 582{Heb. sons of strength} let them go,3212 we pray thee, and seek1245 thy master:113 lest peradventure the Spirit7307 of the LORD3068 hath taken him up,5375 and cast7993 him upon some259 mountain,2022{Heb. one of the mountains} or into some259 valley.1516 And he said,559 Ye shall not send.7971 cr 17 And when they urged6484 him till he was ashamed,954 he said,559 Send.7971 They sent7971 therefore fifty2572 men;376 and they sought1245 three7969 days,3117 but found4672 him not. cr 18 And when they came again7725 to him, (for he tarried3427 at Jericho,)3405 he said559 unto them, Did I not say559 unto you, Go3212 not? cr

2 Kings 2:19 And the men582 of the city5892 said559 unto Elisha,477 Behold, I pray thee, the situation4186 of this city5892 is pleasant,2896 as my lord113 seeth:7200 but the water4325 is naught,7451 and the ground776 barren.7921{Heb. causing to miscarry} cr 20 And he said,559 Bring3947 me a new2319 cruse,6746 and put7760 salt4417 therein. And they brought3947 it to him. cr 21 And he went forth3318 unto the spring4161 of the waters,4325 and cast7993 the salt4417 in there, and said,559 Thus saith559 the LORD,3068 I have healed7495 these waters;4325 there shall not be from thence any more death4194 or barren7921 land. cr 22 So the waters4325 were healed7495 unto this day,3117 according to the saying1697 of Elisha477 which he spake.1696 cr

2 Kings 2:23 And he went up5927 from thence unto Bethel:1008 and as he was going up5927 by the way,1870 there came forth3318 little6996 children5288 out of the city,5892 and mocked7046 him, and said559 unto him, Go up,5927 thou bald head;7142 go up,5927 thou bald head.7142 cr 24 And he turned6437 back,310 and looked7200 on them, and cursed7043 them in the name8034 of the LORD.3068 And there came forth3318 two8147 she bears1677 out of the wood,3293 and tare1234 forty705 and two8147 children3206 of them. cr 25 And he went3212 from thence to mount2022 Carmel,3760 and from thence he returned7725 to Samaria.8111 cr
