See Dt. 21:17.} double8147 portion6310 of thy spirit be upon me.730710 And he said,559 Thou hast asked7592 a hard thing:7185nevertheless, if thou see7200 me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.394711 And it came to pass, as they still1980 went on,1980 and talked,1696 that, behold, thereappeared a{Or, chariots} chariot7393 of fire,784 and horses5483 of fire,784 which parted6504 them both8147 asunder;996 and Elijah452 went up5927 by a whirlwind5591 into heaven.806412 And Elisha477 saw7200 it, and he cried,6817 My father,1 my father,1 the chariots7393{Or, chariot} of Israel3478 and the horsemen6571 thereof! And he saw7200 him no more: and he took hold2388 of his own clothes,899 and rent7167 them in two8147 pieces.
13 He took up7311 also the mantle155 of Elijah452 that fell5307 from him, and went back,7725 and stood5975 by the bank8193 of the Jordan.338314 And he took3947 the mantle155 of Elijah452 that fell5307 from him, and smote5221 the waters,4325 and said,559 Where is Jehovah,3068 the{Or, the God of Elijah, even he? and when he had smitten etc.} God430 of Elijah?452 and when he also had smitten5221 the waters,4325 they were divided2673 hither and thither; and Elisha477 went over.5674
2 Kings 2:15 And when the sons1121 of the prophets5030 that were at Jericho3405 over against him saw7200 him, they said,559 The spirit7307 of Elijah452 doth rest5117 on Elisha.477 And they came935 to meet7125 him, and bowed7812 themselves to the ground before him.77616 And they said559 unto him, Behold now, there are3426 with thy servants5650 fifty2572 strong2428 men;1121 let them go,3212 we pray thee, and seek1245 thy master,113 lest the Spirit7307 of Jehovah3068 hath taken him up,5375 and cast7993 him upon some259 mountain,2022 or into some259 valley.1516 And he said,559 Ye shall not send.797117 And when they urged6484 him till he was ashamed,954 he said,559 Send.7971 They sent7971 therefore fifty2572 men;376 and they sought1245 three7969 days,3117 but found him not.467218 And they came back7725 to him, while he tarried3427 at Jericho;3405 and he said559 unto them, Did I not say559 unto you, Go not?3212
2 Kings 2:19 And the men582 of the city5892 said559 unto Elisha,477 Behold, we pray thee, the situation4186 of this city5892 is pleasant,2896 as my lord113 seeth:7200 but the water4325 is bad,7451 and the land776 miscarrieth.7921{Or, casteth its fruit}20 And he said,559 Bring3947 me a new2319 cruse,6746 and put7760 salt4417 therein. And they brought it to him.394721 And he went forth3318 unto the spring4161 of the waters,4325 and cast7993 salt4417 therein, and said,559 Thus saith559 Jehovah,3068 I have healed7495 these waters;4325 there shall not be from thence any more death4194 or miscarrying.7921{Or, casting of fruit}22 So the waters4325 were healed7495 unto this day,3117 according to the word1697 of Elisha477 which he spake.1696
2 Kings 2:23 And he went up5927 from thence unto Beth-el;1008 and as he was going up5927 by the way,1870 there came forth3318 young6996 lads5288 out of the city,5892 and mocked7046 him, and said559 unto him, Go up,5927 thou baldhead;7142 go up,5927 thou baldhead.714224 And he looked7200 behind310 him and saw7200 them, and cursed7043 them in the name8034 of Jehovah.3068 And there came forth3318 two8147 she-bears1677 out of the wood,3293 and tare1234 forty705 and two8147 lads of them.320625 And he went3212 from thence to mount2022 Carmel,3760 and from thence he returned7725 to Samaria.8111
