He worked as a brakeman for the D&R.G. Railroad until he received a medical GEN: retirement. At the time he returned to barber school where he graduated at the top of his class. Bill was owner and operator GEN: of Rooney's Barber Shop. Member of the LDS Church. GEN: Survived by daughter. Betty Sanchez and husband Max, Riverton; granddaughters, Leasa Socci, Salt Lake City; and Lora Baggott, GEN: Brentwood, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Robbie, Nicolas and Anthony. Also survived by step-brother, Keith Christensen GEN: and step-sister Ruby Douglas. He was preceded in death by a brother, James J. Rooney and step-brother, Van Christensen. GEN: Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 9th at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 So. where friends may call GEN: Friday 7-8 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. William married Lyle Blanche Cowdin, daughter of Roy Norboe Cowdin and Elizabeth Lillian Parents, on 7 May 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah. (Lyle Blanche Cowdin was born on 7 Mar 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah and died on 21 Feb 1974 in Salt Lake City, Utah.)
