Neil Frank Cowdin

Cowdin GEN: UINTAH--Following a valiant struggle with heart disease, Neil Frank Cowdin, 70, returned to our Father in Heaven on Wednesday, GEN: February 11, 1998. GEN: He was born September 6, 1927 in Salt Lake City, a son of Roy Norman and Lillian Parents Cowdin. GEN: Neil married Helen Watts in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 25, 1950. Helen died July 2, 1958. On August 11, 1961, Neil GEN: married Dolores Toy in the Logan LDS Temple. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Neil was a High Priest in the GEN: Uintah 1st LDS Ward. He served in various positions in the church including Ward Membership Clerk for 20 years. Neil was also GEN: an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. He retired from Hill Air Force Base where he was employed as a sign painter. GEN: Neil is survived by his wife of Uintah; five children, Denise (Donald) Ballingham, Uintah; Douglas K. Cowdin Sr., Uintah; GEN: Marilyn (Ivan) Madsen, Pocatello, Idaho; David (Debbie) Cowdin, South Weber; Darcel (Michael) Bindrup, Washington Terrace. He GEN: was Papa "C" to 27 grandchildren and Papa Great to eight great-grandchildren. They were all his Bennys and Sallys. His GEN: greatest love was life itself and spending time with his family. Also surviving are two sisters, Velma Hoem and Loa Corcoran, GEN: both of Roy; two brothers, Roy Norman Jr., Kent, Wash.; and Dean Cowdin, Clearfield. GEN: Neil was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, his daughter Nancy, a grandson, Morgan, two brothers Dan and Clyde GEN: Cowdin, and one sister, Lyle Rooney. GEN: Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Uintah 1st Ward Chapel, 6660 South 1725 East, with Bishop Larry Assay GEN: officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at GEN: the Ward Chapel from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment, Uintah Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
