The attorney that he entrusted to patten his hospital bed invention (which was used all over the world GEN: until the electric hospital beds) patented the device in his name and therefore swindled the family out of any royalties. GEN: "Civil Engineer Dies in Hospital" - November 16, 1933 GEN: J. H. Johnson, 47, of 1731 South Main Street, a civil engineer, died in a local hospital Thursday at 2:20 p.m. of a cerebral GEN: hemorrhage. GEN: Mr. Johnson was born in Malmo, Sweden, September 14, 1887, and was a graduate of the Swedish Marine Engineer College. He GEN: served on an exploration trip in the Belgian Congo of Africa for the French government. GEN: Mr. Johnson had traveled extensively and had visited America several times before he settled in American Fork, Utah. He came GEN: to Salt Lake City several years ago, and up to the time of his death had engaged in civil engineering work. GEN: He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Fanny Eckman Johnson, five children, Robert Hilding, Boyd LdGrande, John Hilding Jr., May and GEN: Raymond Johson, all of Salt Lake City; one sister, Mrs. Hilma Bloomquist of American Fork, and a brother, Helga Johnson of GEN: Salt Lake City. GEN: Funeral arrangements had not been completed Thursday night. Johan married Fanny Regina Ekman, daughter of Frans Teodor Ekman and Mathilda Carolina Andersdotter, on 25 Feb 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah. (Fanny Regina Ekman was born on 7 Sep 1884 in Nerike, Vastmanland, Sweden and died on 30 Jul 1964 in Salt Lake City, Utah.) |
